Huge tasty chicken fried steak. They have to bring out a second plate for your sides because the steak covers the first one!
Delicious food!!! My husband had a chicken fried steak dinner with mashed potatoes, I had a pulled pork bbq dinner with twice bake potato, and our daughter had chicken tenders with cheesy fries. For dessert we had chocolate cream pie. Everything was delicious!!! Homey atmosphere.
Great food great people awesome places to visit and eat
Good food, good service, and clean.
This place is always amazing. 2 chicken filets, 6 butterfly shrimp, twice baked potato and salad $16.99 plus tax. Feeds two adults easy. So good.
Such a great dinner. The service was good and fun. She joked with us but was efficient. We had 10 people from 1 to 56. Everyone loved their food (a miracle) and was happy. We will be back.
Great meal and friendly service!
You won't leave hungry. Great value and huge portions. Friendly staff and cozy atmosphere.
Eclectic decor, wonderful food, huge portions! We got served quickly despite the crowd. We'll be back!
Amazing breakfast and value. Stop here before a day in Yellowstone.
The wait staff is amazing, And a wonderful environment. I will definitely be returning
We always eat here when traveling- good breakfast and lunch menu. We have never been disappointed!
Hands down, this place has some of the best chicken fried steak in all of Idaho. The white gravy lacks sage abuse (which is overly common), and the twice baked potato will bring you back around to enjoying potato, even if you are sick of them. The lunch menu is no slouch- again, I recommend the chicken fried steak, but the french dip and Reuben are also wonderful- with fresh cut meat and more than enough battered fries to keep your belly full for several hours. The salad bar is seasonal, and a little lackluster if you're used to a large one (as winter approaches, the macaroni salad and other options have disappeared), but everything is fresh.I wanted to share a picture, but I'm too greedy and started eating before I thought of doing so. Yum!
Not bad, but could be better, food was cooked on old smelly oil, we asked for fresh squeezed orange juice and got bottled one, and our server asked us for tips, which is not very pleasant, we leave tips anyway, no need to ask. Besides that the restaurant itself is very nice and interesting designed
Umm...so everything was REALLY good. There was a long wait, but the workers and management were fantastic in treating us well despite a kitchen mix-up. And other than that, the people running the place were really kind, and I totally recommend coming here. 😁
Best bacon I’ve had. We’re just passing through and wanted some hearty breakfast on the road. We got fast, very friendly, and impeccable service, and everything we ordered was cooked to perfection and deliciously homemade. Biscuits and pancakes were both on point, and the sausage gravy and bacon were the best I’ve had outside of my own home cooking, ever. The restrooms are clean and well stocked. Thanks!
Decor is rustic. Food is wonderful and the service was very good.
Great food, hospitality and comfort. Bathrooms are spotless. The restaurant was very clean and tidy. There were only two servers and they were busy, but handled everyone with great attention. The French fries are da bomb!!! If you're hungry and need a rest on your travels, stop here, you'll feel much better!
Great food. Good service, very clean.
Great place for breakfast. Friendly service
The food was delicious and very well priced! It was quiet and calm when we were there for lunch. A nice break from the crowded, large, chain restaurants we are used to. The staff was super friendly too! I had a twice baked potato (delicious) and the salad bar. My son had a cheeseburger and fries (best fries we’ve had in a while). I highly recommend this restaurant!
Good food. Very attentive waitress.
Food was good and portion sizes were generous. Price was not bad at all.Minus one star since nobody on staff was wearing a face mask during the COVID Pandemic.
Amazing food and staff you get so much food for the price you pay the best place I have ever ate
Loved stopping here early in the morning for breakfast before hiking at meza falls
Great find in this little town on our way to Yellowstone. Great food , great service , a clean restaurant in an old log cabin styleJust off route 20
We stopped in for dinner. The prices were great, the food was AMAZING and very filling, the wait staff was great as well. My family and I haven't stopped talking about Trails Inn since we got back from our vacation.
We came here twice for breakfast during our vacation and both times we were fed VERY well! Our portions were hefty and delicious and the prices are great.
Really love the look inside. It has an inviting and warm feeling. The food was decent. The hashbrowns were a little clumpy and mash potatoes like texture. Everything else was great. Eggs were perfect. Bacon, sausage and toast was good. My friend had their mushroom burger. She didn't like it. She never said why. I tried their fries and tried a comerford of bites of the burger. Fries were awesome. They're the batter dipped fries crispy texture outside. Soft moist texture in middle. The burger was okay. Not a wow factor. Better than Red Robin.
What a lovely place for lunch and dinner! Stephanie, our waitress, was friendly and hard working. The menu has quite the variety of American cuisine. I highly recommend dining at this restaurant.
Great breakfast and accommodated a very large group! Awesome service!
Good atmosphere, lazy made food. Definitely could use more umph
There was a huge group of us that came in and they were so good with us. They called in another cook. The waitress was so awesome and never looked annoyed with us and all our kids. My Super BLT was amazing! The fries were super crispy. The chicken strips for the youngest were jucy and perfectly cooked and my husband and kids loved their burgers. It was a great find.
Excellent service, great food and friendly accommodation staff. Ill be back when I travel that way again. I had the regular 2 egg breakfast with sausage patties, hash browns and a biscuit and sausage gravy. !!
Biggest chicken fried steak I have even seen!
You can't go wrong here. Good food and very nice people. Don't be afraid to ask for recommendations. We hadn't intended to spend a day in Ashton, ID, but, our vehicle had broken down nearby and it ended up getting repaired in Ashton. This restaurant was within walking distance of the motel and was recommended by one of the people we had met the night before. We had an excellent experience.
Great food, and really nice atmosphere. Really enjoyed my visit.
We ate here coming back from a long day at Yellowstone. When we walked in, they were about to close up but told us to come on in . The food was fantastic. I reccomend the twice baked potato. Portions were large. Good prices. Great food. Friendly staff. You won't be disappointed.
The inside felt very homey, Great bacon and french toast.
Went to Trails Inn during the summer of 2018 after I cycled down from Mesa Falls and wanted to rendezvous with my family for a burger a Big Jud's, but went to Trails Inn after being treated rudely by a waitress at Jud's. We were the only customers there about mid afternoon and the waiter treated us like royalty. The food was good also and the joint was clean and tidy.
The food was good, service not so much. We waited ten minutes to be seated. There were numerous open tables, but the wait staff was trying to get them all bussed as well as cashier people and deliver food. Once our order was taken the food came in a timely manner. Our waitress never came back to check on us. We had to borrow silverware, napkins, and cups from other clean tables. We ate our pancakes without syrup as there was none on other tables and the waitress wasn't available. There were maybe seven tables occupied. A dedicated busser during busy times would probably help everyone.
The food was excellent, as was the service and overall environment. Wish I could give more than 5 stars. Wonderful place!
Ordered a burger told them I didn't want any if the topping just meat and cheese. Was told everything comes on the side. Food arrived and there was mayonnaise on the burger this was not even listed in the menu when I brought it up the server asked if I wanted a new burger. They took it to the kitchen and wiped the burger off and brought it back out worst customer service. And if this had been a food allergy rather than just a preference I would sue as is I walked out and will never eat here again.
Best breakfast I have had in a long time. Excellent food and great service. Overall great experience.
Cheap food at a premium price. The steak was tough and gritty and I'm pretty sure the pie was just made from whatever they could find in the kitchen. But, it's one of the only sit down restaurants in Ashton and the food was edible. I'd suggest either stopping in Rexburg or in Island Park itself for a nice sit-down, but this place is pretty good if you want the small town restaurant feel and get a burger.
Meh, it stopped my hunger, but I wouldn't come back.
Trails Inn Restaurant not only knows meat and potatoes; they understand them. The decor? Ask about their lunch and dinner dessert policy and pretend it's the eighties.
Great service, great food, great prices!
Loved this place! The breakfast food was amazing and the quantity is more than you can expect. This place has its interiors decorated with taxidermy mounts of various animals.
Welcome stop on our way home from Yellowstone after a long week of travel. The servers were extremely friendly, the food was good and the portions were huge. Their house special twice-baked potato was huge. So was the chicken fried steak. Fun decor too- the kid had fun checking out the pins on the maps, showing where people had come from
